OHM Children’s Program 2013
The annual Australian event Open House Melbourne (OHM) is a free 2 day weekend experience, inviting the public to explore incredible buildings for free through guided tours. For 2012 and 2013, it was our pleasure to work in partnership with OHM to create content and design for the 2012 Children’s Program. 4 mascots were created to help young OHM attendees explore Melbourne city and were visually based on the ‘place’ icon from the Open House Melbourne logo. The program’s graphics are bold and simple to attract a young reader, as well as textured and layered to appeal to an older audience. The Children’s Programs are filled with activities designed to encourage engagement with the city, it’s buildings and public transport, and are available for free during the Open House weekends.

With educational content written by industry specialists in Australia and New Zealand, Cengage Learning is a leading provider of learning solutions for Primary, Secondary and Higher Education throughout the region.
To further evolve Cengage’s range of primary school reading books, the publisher developed a digital reading app. The app enables teachers to assign and monitor the reading progress of books within their class. It also gives students the ability to view their reading lists, use word search, word definition and drawing tools, and directly edit text within the book narration.
To entice the students to use the new eBook system, Cengage employed Pounce’s digital design services to created the look and feel for the user interface. The final visuals use a teal and orange palette to create a peaceful, warm and inviting aesthetic while subtle textures create depth and reference the tactile world of the not-forgotten paper books.
